The 2021 Hyundai Sonata is a stunning sedan with an array of features. It offers great performance, innovative technology, plenty of front headroom, and much more. Check out our review below to see why you should be behind the wheel of the new Sonata!
The 2021 Hyundai Sonata trims are available with a 2.5-liter gas engine or a 1.6-liter gas engine, with an output of up to 191 horsepower, contingent on the engine type. The vehicle comes with front-wheel drive and an 8-speed shiftable automatic.
The 2021 Sonata’s luxe interior is just as eye-catching as its sporty exterior. The interior is spacious, consisting of 40.0 cubic feet of front headroom. It has 16 cubic feet of cargo space, which is ideal for carrying your family’s luggage during a road trip. Furthermore, the back seat can be folded down to boost trunk space. As for the vehicle’s stunning exterior, hidden lights seamlessly meld with the glossy chrome trim.
The 2021 Sonata’s technological features are just as alluring as its beautiful exterior. A hi-res 8-inch touchscreen with HD Radio comes standard with Sonata, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For those who want to add a little more cutting-edge tech to their new vehicle, there’s the available digital smartphone key. In addition to your key fob, you can access your car and start the engine with the Digital Key, which is used in conjunction with your compatible Android smartphone. You can also share the electronic key with another driver’s phone.? Also available via upgrade – but standard on Limited trim – is the Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), which can remotely aid in parking your car.
Hyundai doesn’t skimp on its safety features either. In fact, this year, the Sonata received a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. The 2021 standard edition has noteworthy safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist With Pedestrian Detection (FCA-Ped), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go. Of course, there are other helpful safety features available. For example, if you upgrade to SEL, SEL Plus, or Limited, the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Safe Exist Warning (SEW) comes standard.
The 2021 Sonata comes in seven different colors: Calypso Red, Hampton Gray, Phantom Black, Portofino Gray, Quartz White, Shimmering Silver Pearl, and Stormy Sea.
It’s standard on Limited trim. Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM) provides a live view of the blind spots on either side of the sedan and discharges an audible alert if another vehicle is detected.
The Sonata has four available trim levels: SE ($23,600), SEL ($25,700), SEL Plus ($28,200), and Limited ($33,850).
